Management of Psoriasis in Ayurveda is done by considering its Dosha, Dushya, Pathya-pathya aspects. Ayurveda advocates intake of Laghu Ahara (light food), Tikta rasa (bitter taste) predominant vegetables, Triphala (Terminalia bellirica, Terminalia chebula and Emblica officinalis), Nimba (Azadirachta indica), Haridra (Curcuma longa), Manjishtha (Rubia cordifolia) etc. and ghee for patients of skin diseases. Many patients of Psoriasis seeking treatment at various Ayurveda hospitals are getting quite successful results. But the frequent recurrence of disease causes severe agony in psoriasis patients. The patient may be counselled time to time about continuing the treatment even if he/she gets relief. As Ayurveda has less side effects and dependency, patients would be advised to manage the disease through Ayurveda medicines and Pancha-karma therapies as required.
